In dem Artikel geht es prinzipiell darum, dass Facebook und AOL sich drauf geeinigt haben dass man jetzt seine Facebook-Freunde auch im AOL Instant Messenger sieht, und man seinen Facebook Login auch für andere Dienste verwenden kann, die eigentlich ein eigenes Benutzerkonto erfordern würden.

Jetzt gibt es aber in diesem, unserem Internetz User die sich

  • keine URLs merken können/wollen (á la facebook.com),
  • keine Lesezeichen im Browser haben (wie zB ein Bookmark auf facebook.com),
  • Google als Suchmaschine missbrauchen, um auf die gewünschte Seite zu kommen.

Ein Beispiel: Ich möchte mich auf facebook.com einloggen. Ich würde jetzt, ein normaler Grad an Intelligenz vorausgesetzt, meinen Browser öffnen, ins Adressfeld facebook.com eintippen und Enter drücken. Und – voilá – ich bin hier:

Stattdessen ereignet sich folgendes Szenario: Ich öffne einen Browser, gehe auf google.at und tippe dort im Suchfeld (oder im Suchfeld des Browsers – für Fortgeschrittene) facebook.com, facebook login oder einfach nur facebook ein. Das Ergebnis ist dann folgendes:

Wie man unschwer erkennen kann ist der erste Link den mir Google zeigt die offizielle Facebook Login-Seite.

www.readwriteweb.com hat es aber geschafft mit ihrem Blog-Post auf Rang 1 der Suchergebnisse zu kommen, was natürlich bei einigen Usern Angst, Verwirrtheit und Zorn ausgelöst hat:

The very definition of fail.

Mich würde interessieren ob die Leute die da so kräftig gescheitert sind auf die Facebook Seite zu kommen, ihre eigene Anschrift auch im Telefonbuch suchen. Und was passiert eigentlich wenn man auf Google nach Google sucht? Es muss wohl das Universum in sich zusammenstürzen. Eine Phishingattacke wäre hier auf jeden Fall sehr erfolgreich gewesen.

Aber es soll ja auch Leute geben die in die Adresseleiste eine eMailadresse eingeben und sich dann wundern dass die gewünschte Seite nicht angezeigt wird, sonder eine (fehlschlagender) Login auf dem angegebenen Webserver stattfindet (Danke Bernd).

Und auf www.readwriteweb.com ist man stolz ein neues Internet Meme geboren zu haben.
